308 (aka Deore and Ché) are a UK singer/songwriter duo with an eclectic sound and clean, charismatic charm. The brothers, born in South London, have always loved producing and writing music, but they only started working seriously together when they officially formed ‘308’ in February 2007. They set up their Myspace site and uploaded some of their songs. In early March they were contacted by Nicole Baker, who was PA to Darren Martyn of Darren Martyn Productions. They met with Darren and continued to work with him, building their album, which they finished in August 2007 – 16 tracks in all. Their debut album boasts collaborations with many established UK artists, such as Darren Martyn, Kele Le Roc, Richie Dann and Sadie Ama. The video for their catchy new single, ‘Gots To Go’ featuring Darren Martyn and directed by Mark Potter, is destined to put this talented duo on the map. The single is due for release on 1st October 2007. They were recently interviewed by Darren Milby and Lorna Bancroft who broadcast ‘The Bay Unsigned’ every Sunday at 7.00 pm for The Bay Radio Station in Lancaster. The Bay contacted 308 when Lorna listened to their music on their Myspace site, inviting them to be interviewed for their show and the guys were only too happy to oblige. The interview was broadcast on Sunday 26th August 2007 at 8.00 pm. They also had an interview with DJ Bertie B of Kemet Radio in Nottingham on Thursday 16th August, which lasted for over an hour. Bertie B played several of their tracks off their forthcoming album and asked them some far-reaching questions. Everyone at Kemet enjoyed the music and 308 enjoyed it so much they have promised to go back up to Nottingham to perform live a the end of September. Their first single, ‘Gots to Go’, has now been playlisted on Kemet Radio. The album track ‘Without You’ is also set to feature on Darren Martyn’s forthcoming Garage compilation, ‘Darren Martyn Presents …. ‘ and has already been played on DJ Cameo’s Pirate Sessions Show on BBC 1Xtra during May 2007. ‘G.O.D.’ featuring Richie Dan, has also been played by Dave P of Choice FM on his ‘Positive Inspirations Show’ on Sunday 12th August. 308’s extraordinary talent was also recognized when they were selected as one of the winners of the BT Broadband Unsigned Talent Competition in August 2007. They were given a 20 minute slot to perform songs from their up and coming album, supporting Mutya Buena (former Sugababe) in the opening show. The event was all part of the lead up to the BT Digital Music Awards to take place in October 2007.
